October Female Athlete of the Month

October 2, 2017

Full Name: Kaci Paij Calton

When did you join: 6/19/2017

Occupation: Evidence Technician for Harrisonville Police Dept.

What is your spirt animal: A wolf.

Biggest Motivation: This sounds cliché but I would have to say I am my biggest motivation, and I think you almost have to be to keep going. There are multiple facets to my “why” but they all boil down to I simply want to be a better version of myself, for myself and my future.

Favorite quote: “Warriors are not born and they are not made…Warriors create themselves through trial and error, pain and suffering, and their ability to conquer their own faults.”

Favorite Workout fuel: Chipotleeeee!

Favorite lift: That’s a hard one! I’d say either snatch (because it’s complicated and the satisfaction of getting it just right is awesome!) or hang power cleans (because I can string them together and feel like a badass)

Least favorite lift: Deadlift or Split Jerk

Favorite workout so far: Anything that doesn’t involve running. Lol No but honestly, probably any of the hero WOD’s. Knowing that you’re doing a workout in honor of something larger than yourself pushes me to better than I think I am.

Athlete of the month goals

Personal: To keep pushing myself outside of my comfort zones to become the person I want to be.

Professional: I just got back from Crime Scene School and am currently working to implement more of the skills I learned there!

Athletic: Continue working on my weaknesses and become just a little bit better every day. I’ve striving to remember that everyday is really just practice at being better tomorrow. Ohh and a muscle up, definitely want to get a muscle up!

Why do you choose MC CrossFit?

I chose MC because I was looking for a place where I was challenged in the best way I can be. The coaches are incredible, the community is amazing and it feels like home. I really feel like everyone knows everyone and what drives them, what makes them want to give up, how to help people push that, and we all grow together as a community and I think that’s truly one of a kind. It’s a really enriching environment to be a part of and a huge part of my life!
